Terms of use

1. What Yovolo is

Yovolo is a wishlist and gift-coordination service operated by Yovolo (registration in progress). You can keep lists of wishes, share them, plan gifts with others, and reserve items so they aren't bought twice. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use yovolo.com or app.yovolo.com.

2. Free

Yovolo is free to use. There is no paid tier and there are no ads.

3. No money through Yovolo

Pledges are promises, not payments. Yovolo never holds, transfers or collects money. Pledges and pots are records of an agreement between givers; settling up happens outside the service, between the people involved. Purchases happen at the shops you link to, under those shops' own terms, prices and consumer rights.

4. Your account

You can use parts of Yovolo without an account; an email address is needed at the moment you share or accept an invitation. Keep access to your email account safe, since it is how you sign in. You must be an adult to hold an account; lists for children are run by a parent or guardian.

5. Your content

Your lists and wishes stay yours. You give us the permission needed to store them and show them to the people you choose to share them with; that's all we use it for. Don't add content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share.

6. Reservations and holds

Reserving an item marks it as taken for other givers for a limited time (currently 72 hours, extendable once). Reservations coordinate buying; they don't create any obligation to buy, and they aren't visible to the list's owner unless that owner turns them on.

7. Fair use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful content, no harassment, no attempts to break, scrape or overload it, no impersonating others. We can suspend or close accounts that do.

8. Availability and changes

We run Yovolo with care but can't promise it is always available or free of faults. Features can change as the product develops. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give reasonable notice.

9. Liability

We are liable where the law says we are, including for intent and gross negligence. For simple negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for a free service of this kind. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. We aren't a party to purchases you make at shops, or to agreements between givers.

10. Ending

You can stop using Yovolo and delete your account at any time, in the product or by writing to hello@yovolo.com. We can end the agreement with reasonable notice, or immediately in cases of misuse.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll announce it in the product with reasonable notice before it takes effect.

12. Governing law

The law of the country of Yovolo (registration in progress)'s registered seat applies, without its conflict-of-law rules; mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence stay untouched. This section will name the jurisdiction once registration completes.
