Name who it's for. That's all it needs: it works before they've ever heard of Yovolo, and they can never see it.
Decide together.
Invite the others by email. Collect ideas, vote, and link the person's own wishlist if they have one.
Pledge and settle up.
The pot shows who's in and for how much. The money moves the way it always has: bank transfer, cash, or one person buys and the rest pay them back.
One tap, one gift, once.
Reserving marks an item as taken for 72 hours, and every other giver sees it. The group never buys the same thing twice, whether it's two of you or twelve.
They never see any of it.
Gift lists are invisible to the person the gift is for: not the ideas, not the votes, not the pot. If they use Yovolo themselves, nothing changes; the list simply does not exist for them.

Does Yovolo hold the money?
No. Pledges are promises, not payments. There is no wallet and no card entry; you settle up between yourselves, the way you normally would.
How do we split the cost?
However you agree. The pot records each pledge, so everyone can see who is in and for how much. The maths and the settling stay yours.
What if someone never pays their share?
That stays between you: a pledge is a promise to the group, not a transaction. Yovolo keeps the pledges visible so nothing is forgotten, but we never chase, charge or collect.
Can the person we are gifting stumble on the list?
No. The list is invisible to them by design, whether or not they use Yovolo.
